Bonnie from Going Home to Roost hosted an awesome project challenge.
Basically all you need to do to enter is use her fabric from the hello, bear collection.
I purchased 1 yard of Oh, Hello Meadow and 1 1/2 yards of Wildwood Nectar from A Stitch in Time.
Heather usually makes these blankets with flannel so I also purchased 40″ of batting so that my blanket would be thicker.
Now here are some interesting facts about me. Both my grandmothers were gifted seamstresses.
My grandma Ruth made all of our barbie doll clothes that we used to play with.
My grandma Kay sewed wedding dresses, brides made dresses
and even my halloween costume which was a wedding dress when I was 9.
My mom is also a very talented sewer.
She can follow a pattern and sew anything.
Now me on the other hand. I’m very impatient when it comes to sewing. I don’t know if it’s because I’m an artist or just an impatient person but most of the time I decide to just create my own pattern and nothing ever turns out right.
Heather worked with me and I am very proud to say that my self-bound blanket turned out better than I ever imagined.
The top stitch that we decided to use to finish off the project is what ties the whole project together.
I hope you enjoy the photos of the process and the finished project.
Don’t forget to check out Going Home to Roost for all the project details and other projects people created.
Ta-Da the finished project ladies and gentlemen.
I absolutely love this blanket.
Thank you so much Heather for making this project very fun and understandable.
Also I want to thank Bonnie for hosting such a fun challenge!
I hope you all enjoyed the photos and have a lovely Thursday.
xoxo
